Spend Mother's Day...with your MOM!!
This is a big weekend! Love on your mom a bit. We've had a "CREDO" retreat tentatively scheduled on our long range calendar for this weekend. Mary Ketchersid and I have both agreed that it needs to be rescheduled for the fall. ALSO, our Johnston Woods Workday scheduled for this Saturday will be rescheduled as Johnston Woods doesn't have any work that needs to be done at this time (by a youth group)! Take your mom out to dinner, do the dishes and mow the yard without being asked a million times. And for goodness sake, clean your room!

What is Assembly?
Assembly is a hundred-year-old-plus ministry of the Holston Conference UMC! This year, Assembly will be at Tennessee Wesleyan College. This is an amazing opportunity to connect deeply with Christ. It is without a doubt a favorite of the youth who have attended in the past. Youth stay in college dorms and eat in the cafeteria. We will have a daily speaker & worship music, a fantastic concert, very meaningful family group time, lots of organized fun and plenty of free time. Youth will also sign up for daily interest groups that include the option to explore worship arts such as song writing, acting, art, photography, etc. Register through Broad Street and receive $40 off the registration fee. More details can be found on the forms tab above.

Youth Family Picnic!!
I know this is a crazy time of year! It's time to hit the "pause" button. Take a few minutes to just relax and have fun with your family this Sunday. I've reserved the Pavilion at Johnston Woods on Sunday, May 6. If we had a planned timeframe - which we don't - it would be from 5pm-7pm. You are welcome to come early. Bring a picnic dinner for your family. Go fishing, ride the paddle boats or canoes, play disc golf or horseshoes, or maybe just go for a hike. This is your time to be together as a family with your church family.

Important Message about Our Mission Trip
Summer Registrations!
Summertime is upon us. We are excited that our Broad Street summers are filled with opportunities to connect children, youth, and adults together in missions, service, and outreach. We are so excited about Bible school and Wonders in the Woods. Another of our valued ministries is the Youth Mission Trip to Welch, WV - June 3-9. We have a fantastic team of adults ready to be in ministry with our youth as we make a difference in the lives of the people in Appalachia.
Our registration deadlines have already passed and we don’t yet have the minimum number of youth to be able to take the trip. We have some challenging decisions to make and I need your help. If your youth is planning to go on the mission trip this year, I need to hear a “yes” from you no later than this Sunday, May 6. It is so late in the season, that a maybe will not be helpful. Our advisory team will make a decision on how to move forward on Monday. Scholarships are available! All of our forms are available online at the church website and the youth website as well as in the youth info racks located throughout the church. Thank you, and whatever we decide, I know you are as excited as I am about the summer of missions ahead of us.

Youth Family Picnic!!
I know this is a crazy time of year! Take a few minutes to just relax and have fun with your family next Sunday. I've reserved the Pavilion at Johnston Woods on Sunday, May 6. We are planning to be there from 5pm-7pm, but you are welcome to come early. Bring a picnic dinner for your family. Go fishing, ride the paddle boats or canoes, play disc golf or horseshoes, or maybe just go for a hike. This is your time to be together as a family with your church family.

It's time for Mulch Madness!
This Sunday, February 26 is the last day of order taking for Mulch Madness. HAVE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER YET? It looks like we will definitely be able to finish all of our work on March 10 (rain date March 17) and the response has been fantastic!
Please remember, WE NEED EVERY YOUTH FAMILY to help with our work day on March 10. We will begin the day at 7am!! With four work teams, we should be able to finish our work by lunchtime! You'll receive the final details in next week's Update.

Youth This Sunday - You're Invited!
This is President's Day Weekend. Our regular "third-weekend" leaders will be out of town, so please make note of this change of plans!
Andy and Sissy Figlestahler have invited ALL THE YOUTH over to their house from 5pm-7pm for Dinner and a Devotional! They live at 2010 Woodchase Way NE, 37311. Please RSVP to me so that Sissy will know how many to prepare for! Also let me know if you'd like to catch a ride with me from the church. Here are the directions from the church: Take Ocoee Street north (toward Lee University) turn right onto 20th street, turn left onto Woodchase Close NE, take the first right - Woodchase Way NE. 2010 is on the right.
N*Light*N Trip - Atlanta
Our trip to Altanta is next weekend! Meet at the church at 8:30am on Saturday, February 25th. That means pack your things before Saturday morning! The bus leaves at 9am.
Be sure to bring:
Mulch Madness & the month of March
I hope you are as excited as I am about Mulch Madness! The orders keep coming in!
WE NEED EVERY YOUTH FAMILY to help with our work day on March 10. Due to the sheer volume of mulch orders, there is a good chance that we will need to schedule a second work day!! That means that we will need to play March by ear. If we finish our work, we will have regular youth activities from March 11 till spring break. But Mulch Madness support is growing fast! So be ready to change plans a bit if necessary. March 17 is our rain day and will also serve as a "second" work day if we need it.
